Blog Post 1



Welcome to my first blog post regarding my genius hour topic/question! 

This has been a long, hard, thoughtful process for me because I feel as a student we have never really had the time to learn about a lot of things, or ask the questions we want to.  I will also say that this process was difficult for me because I am a very indecisive individual. 

As someone who has played hockey competitively since the age of 5 I have never given a lot of other fitness practices a try, including yoga.  So for my genius hour topic/question I have began to consider using yoga for this project.  I can say that I have maybe participated in yoga once or twice in my lifetime as an adult and so would really love to learn yoga, especially as a physical education major.  As someone who struggles with chronic lower back pain, and neck pain; as well as someone who is affected by mental health learning yoga would also be beneficial to me. 

I want to know if actively participating in yoga can positively benefit low back pain, neck pain, and mental health disorders.  


I am still unsure of how I would go about measuring progress in this scenario, but this is just a start so I am hoping to keep moving forward and gain more information.
